Inert gas - Nitrogen

Note: Helium is no longer recommended for use in exiting. Helium sold today is adulterated with air and will not be effective. Nitrogen is the current recommendation.

Books on Safe, Comfortable Methods of End-of-Life Hastening
For do-it-yourselfers, there are good, publicly available how-to books. Two that we recommend are:
Final Exit 2020: www.finalexit.org (available only as a digital download). This resource is less expensive, a little less technical, and contains information on using drugs and using inert gas, such as nitrogen. It is a bit out of date.

The Peaceful Pill Handbook: www.peacefulpillhandbook.com (both paper and online versions available; the online edition is updated regularly and includes instructional videos). This resource is more expensive, a bit more technical, and contains information on a number of different self-deliverance methods, rating each for reliability, availability, and peacefulness.
The Peaceful Pill Handbook Available on Amazon or Online
We prefer the Online Subscription so you get updates and can view informational videos.

Final Exit Network’s Exit Guide Program
For those who meet their criteria, the Exit Guide Program will provide, free of charge, trained and experienced guides to educate you on safe, comfortable ways to end your life. Their guides do not provide physical assistance or the means, so anyone working with guides must be competent and able to procure, assemble, and operate the equipment without assistance. To learn more about the Exit Guide Program, call them at (866) 654-9156 or contact them through their website: www.finalexitnetwork.org/contact-us

Lowrey Brown - FEN's Exit Guide Program Director - July 2025 Presentation - "Pathways to a Chosen Death with a Focus on Final Exit Network's Exit Guide Program"

Many of you are aware that Final Exit Network is a trusted partner and resource for Choice & Dignity. We are honored to bring you a presentation and Q.&A. session with Lowrey Brown who is FEN's Exit Guide Program Director. Lowrey covered FEN's mission and activities with a special emphasis on how one applies for, and qualifies for, their Exit Guide services. This is especially pertinent for Arizonans since we have no access to Medical Aid in Dying here in the state.
